Electrolux group is a Brand Emissions Leader

Electrolux Group has announced its ranking as a Brand Emissions Leader in the household appliances sector, as well as finalist status in the KBB Review Industry Awards for Environmental Innovation. Not bad for a week’s work!!

So what do these accolades mean?

Brand Emissions Leadership status
The brand emissions scheme is in its first year and aims to assess the carbon emissions performance of over 600 of the UK’s leading brands. Successful brand applicants have to satisfy four criteria relating to carbon reduction, intensity, reporting and targets.

The three brands in the Electrolux group – Electrolux, AEG, and Zanussi – were all placed in top positions for efforts to reduce carbon emissions in factories and through products.

Electrolux had the strongest reductions on both emissions intensity and absolute emissions reductions, and also the longest track record for reporting these specifics.

This award, from KBB magazine, is bestowed on a specific product developed to actively move forward the field of green consideration within the kitchen sector. It is AEG-Electrolux’s L64850LE washing machine which has been shortlisted for the accolade.

The L64850LE washing machine’s Super Eco programme sets new standards in energy efficiency. It offers energy savings of 83% against an easycare 40ºC wash and 72% savings against an easycare 30ºC wash.

Award winners will be revealed on Monday 22nd March 2010 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, so fingers crossed for Electrolux!
